Love Is Personal

I don’t think love can be defined. No matter how hard you try. It is nothing and it is everything. It can be the tiniest shift to the biggest decision that will change everything. Gradual, slow, and consuming. Those are all the common words I have to describe it.

Love is attachment. Love is insanity. Love is unsure. It isn’t something tangible, but something that sits inside and eats away at you. Love ages you whether you want it to or not.

Love can be simple and bare. It can be sizzling and electric. It can be unity. It can be comfort. You decide what you want your love to feel like. Would you prefer it be overwhelming or do you want it to be warm and comforting?

Love is creation. Something you are willing to forge with another person. Sometimes that’s a kid, sometimes its a business, or even a story. By loving you are choosing to create, to combine forces. To become a force yourself.

Love does not ask you to be perfect. Relationships do you not force you to conform. You give what you can, take what you can, and solidify yourself for the people you love.

Everyone defines love for themselves. What it feels like to fall in love, what it takes to maintain it, and even how you let it affect you. You define what you feel. Do you feel wild and passionate? Raw and vulnerable? Bare and placid? Electrified and challenged? Comfortable and warm? What do you need from another person is more important than what you want your person to be. (*at this I recommend Are You The One season 8)

You have to make the space you can for love and care. With space comes breath. With breath comes thought. With thought comes ideas. Belief is what changes ideas to actions. If we think we can do it, and know we will be supported, anything can be achieved. If we don’t think we can do it, and expect to be chastised, nothing will happen.
